Tears, Stupid Tears

For Mike, who doesn't want quiet evenings as much, now that I'm gone.

I miss you.

Last night I decided to read poetry from Gerard Melanga's No Respect collection. I came across a poem called "The Gift" which is quite lovely but too long to reproduce here. Instead, I'll copy the epigraph that he used, and which you know very well:

You may forget but

Let me tell you

this: someone in

some future time

will think of us

Oh, Baby! Does anyone else know what it's like to love each other the way we do? Please don't be sad. We'll see each other again soon, and we'll forget how long it's been... you'll see! I love you so much!

Your Duddley

PS. Whose eye is that? Your eyes are brown, not blue...

Typical Nicholas response.

Still, I was pretty maudlin just now, wasn't I?

Um, maybe I'm the only one who thinks this is weird, but what are you two talking about your love and stuff on your blog? I mean, get a private chat room, for god's sake!

I should probably apologize for my comment. I'd be a filthy little hermit without Colleen.

No, you don't have to apologize. Like I said, it was a pretty maudlin outburst on my part anyway.

But as usual, it's all Patty's fault.
